Hi, Hallo, Labas, Wallawani,
Firstly, I would like to acknowledge the First Nations People as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the Australian lands and waters on which I live today. I would like to pay my respects to the Murramarang people of the Yuin nation, their Dhurga language and their Elders past, present and emerging.
My name is Egle Janulionyte. I was born and raised in Klaipeda, near the Baltic Sea, in Lithuania. I grew up in a family of artists with my mother working as an advertisement and stage designer and my father as a stage decorator at the Musical Theater of Klaipeda for over two decades. Design, you might say is in my DNA. With my parents encouragement I am on the search for imagination and creative solutions.
In 2012 I graduated from Erfurt University of Applied Sciences in Germany with a Landscape architecture (Bachelor of Engineering) degree. As part of my studies, I completed a 6 month period of practical training with Woodland landscapes in Sydney, Australia. I thoroughly enjoyed my training in Australia and I am totally captivated by the nature, light and colour of the country. It has inspired my design work greatly. This inspiration has led me to be currently living and working in Narrawallee, on the South Coast of NSW. In April 2024 I have also enrolled into a postgraduate degree of Urban Planning and Urban Design at the University of Technology Sydney.
Functionality, style, character, but most importantly the harmony of the built form and the nature – these are my core design principles forming the basis of all my work. I am particularly interested in projects that involve native vegetation which is mostly beneficial to the environment, community orientated projects and creative projects that blend nature and art installations.
I am opened to a wide range of projects and I am keen to collaborate. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have a project in mind.
Kind regards,
Egle Janulionyte
